Plus size fashion women over 40 : This past weekend we got 24+ inches of snow. This was an [;us sized outfit I wore last week to go out to lunch. I think often what is the body image how I present myself to my kids. Being a Big Girl both in height and in weight. I want to make sure my kid are aware that I think of myself as a beautiful women not mater what size I am. I never use the word Fat or Large. If I am dieting I never say I am, I just say “I need to make better choices”.
I want my son to learn that women in come in all shapes and sizes. As many of you know my son has taken many of my favorite pictures. I love the fact that if he see something out of place, he lets me know, he always wants to present me in my best light, it is a sign of respect for me. He is funny he does not like bright or dark lipstick he says “it does not look real. ”
My daughter it is super important that has positive body image and ignores the pressure of being a girl in such a image conscious society. I tell both my kids how smart and beautiful they are everyday- with big hugs so they always feel loved. They must also respect themselves and take care of themselves in a positive way. I let them know if I see someone who is attractive regardless of size shape or color, on TV or in person (which helps to break down stereotypes). I let them hear my compliment strangers, because it important to say something nice if you think it and it brightens up someones day.
How do you talk to your kids about body image?

Your children sound amazing and I am glad they know at an early age to love their body images and respect others (such as their mom). Lovely layering and I like the shade of lipstick you are wearing!

I am learning to be more positive about my body image in front of my son too. I have put on a few pounds and have been calling myself fat and I don’t want my son to think that it’s okay to call someone fat. i am now focusing with him to eat healthy so our bodies are strong. I love your outfit and that fun scarf!
Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!
