Fashion Friday: What I wore

women in a dress Fashion Friday :  This past weekend I went to The MomMixer in Philadelphia.  Hosted by Colleen Padia and Whitney.  I love these events because they give me a reason to dress pretty.  I went with a fun spring dress and a simple sweater and flats.  I avoid the mid 50’s Temperature it is spring and I am dressing as if it was spring.

Normally I would not wear a stripe dresses.  But in the best interest of you my readers, I want to let you know that some trend are fun and when done correctly they will empower you.   So be sure to bring those dresses you would never wear in the dressing room.  You might find one you like.

While at OLD navy: I also tried on a green shirt dress,  My daughter  (age 8)  loved it but she said it makes me look young like a teenager.   I try to find dresses that are long enough,  the green one was not.  When you are buying in a little girls store,  that offers XXL  be leery of the “too shorts”.   I don’t mind a dress that hits the knee,  but the little girl stores don’t always think about the big girls booty,  when grading the XXL patterns.

I have found  in the past few years I have been impresses with Old Navy’s XXL .  These are not dresses for an interview.  But  the Old Navy dressesare fun and flirty.   The summer dress I buy get worn one  season and I am surprised if they make it 2 seasons,  because they are inexpensive dresses.   I also find that there  XXL (not plus) is cut rather large (note I do not have a large breast)   Old Navy In store XXL  fit like a 18/20 shirt  when dealing with the knits apparel.  I always try on everything.  plus fashion

The Dress is Old Navy $29-(got it on sale for $22)  I found a XXL this dress also comes in green

Sweater is Target $22 I love the red/orange color

Necklace I bought in NYC in the costume jewelry wholesale district-  Some of the stores  do sell retail so it is worth a trip if you are in NYC (Broadway around 29-32 ave).  I figure this Statement  piece is one that I will only wear a few times.  I got them for a steal $8.50 for the necklace and earings. They might turn my neck green when it is hot so I will wear them this spring,  then be given to my daughter for dress play.

The Shoes are Lindsay Philips I reviewed there shoes on my other blog SuperExhausted.com   I love these shoes because they are versatile.  The front clips snap off and you can add other shoe jewelry so the shoes can match your outfit.  The Sizes go up to a Size 12. Price $65.00a Purse

The Purse is a Target  $29 hobo bag.

I also used shapewear to hold the bits in.  Halleluiah to the Shapewear Gods

I will fess up I did run out in  the morning and get the sweater and purse.  Originally I want a yellow sweater.

So Happy Spring!
